There are times when life can be very stressful for dogs.  Noise stress can be caused by fireworks, thunder, gunfire, bird scarers or even a car backfiring.  Certain situations can also make a dog feel very stressed, the most obvious being a visit to the vet.  Sometimes just coming face to face with strangers will upset a nervous dog if it hasn't been socialised or has suffered a traumatic event.
