This multi-function n HALTI Lead was designed by Dr Roger Mugford to control, guide and tether a dog in a variety of situations. It can be used as an everyday lead or a specialist training tool.  The lead is two metres long and has a clip at each end.  The HALTI lead can be used as a short lead for heelwork or obedience training, a longer lead for recall and distance work. It can also be used in conjunction with a HALTI headcollar or a HALTI Harness giving a vital double-lead system.  This is particularly useful for managing over-boisterous, aggressive or otherwise troublesome dogs.

 

 

 

Agility bits has another use for the Halti training lead. 

The lead can be attached to all standard collars and it's brilliant if you want a longer lead just for walking, however, the extra length also means that you can use the "doubled lead" method of control for a pulling dog without having to fit a halter or a harness.  (see below)  All you need to do is to double the lead up so that it goes around the dog's chest.  The lead can then be held in one hand. .
