Most of the products in this category are prescription
only but there are one or two other products that may help when your
dog has an infection. Always consult a vet in the first
instance.

in dogs such as flatulence, diarrhoea and other problems to do with the

These products include ear and eye cleaners which are part of a dog's grooming
routine and also products for ear and eye problems such as otitis and dry eye.

Fleas and ticks
Keeping your dog free from fleas and ticks is absolutely essential.
Some dog are allergic to flea bites and can end up with a severe reaction.
Ticks must be removed or they can cause Lymes disease in dogs. You can buy
a small plastic tick remover to do the job. You can check for flea dirt on your
pet with a flea comb and choose from the many products to treat your dog for
fleas. Because you need to treat your cats at the same time, and because
it's so important there are cat products in this category as well.

These problems are always distressing in dogs,
however, there is a range of products on the market that can help.
As you'd expect, many of these are prescription only but the retailer's

Herbal and Homeopathic
There are many herbal and homeopathic remedies
available and they can work very well as dietary supplements. They
can also be used to help a variety of conditions and can complement to
the treatment prescribed by your vet. Always tell your vet if you are
using anything besides the treatment they have prescribed.

Here's a good selection of useful products, some of which can
be kept in your first aid box for emergencies. Lots of bandages,
ointments, creams and lotions plus some prescription items.

Joints and Mobility
If your dog needs a bit of help getting around these
joint aids can help. This type of product often has a variety of
active ingredients. The one I use for Jamie is the Johnsons
product illustrated on the left. I would suggest that you try
these out for a period of to see if there's any noticeable difference.

Everyone knows Bob Martins but there are many more of the
conditioners available in palatable form and at excellent prices.
This category includes lots of herbal things and natural products supplement
your dog's diet. |

Wormers
Worming your dog is extremely important and the nasty little
critters cannot be left inside your dog. Worming is normally carried out
every three months. There are plenty of products to choose from and your
vet will advise if you are unsure. |
