Welcome to the health section of the Agility Bits Doggie Shop where you'll find a wide range of health products for your dog.  Some of these health products are available on prescription only and each of the Agility Bits partners give clear instructions on how to order these products.  For all puppy health products please consult your vet.  Just click on the more information link next to the product to go to the retailer's website.

If you need help with vet's bills the PDSA may be of assistance and lots of information can be found on their website.

Most of the products in this category are prescription only but there are one or two other products that may help when your dog has an infection.  Always consult a vet in the first instance.

Behavioural

Digestion - Remedies and Supplements
A range of products specially formulated to help with digestive disturbances in dogs such as flatulence, diarrhoea and other problems to do with the digestive system.  Pat says, "I found the Johnsons tablets (illustrated left) worked very well when Jamie had problems and nothing else seemed to be effective."

Eyes and Ears
These products include ear and eye cleaners which are part of a dog's grooming routine and also products for ear and eye problems such as otitis and dry eye.

Fleas and ticks
Keeping your dog free from fleas and ticks is absolutely essential.  Some dog are allergic to flea bites and can end up with a severe reaction.  Ticks must be removed or they can cause Lymes disease in dogs.  You can buy a small plastic tick remover to do the job. You can check for flea dirt on your pet with a flea comb and choose from the many products to treat your dog for fleas.  Because you need to treat your cats at the same time, and because it's so important there are cat products in this category as well.

Heart and Breathing
These problems are always distressing in dogs, however, there is a range of products on the market that can help.  As you'd expect, many of these are prescription only but the retailer's websites will give clear instructions on what to do.

Herbal and Homeopathic
There are many herbal and homeopathic remedies available and they can work very well as dietary supplements.  They can also be used to help a variety of conditions and can complement to the treatment prescribed by your vet. Always tell your vet if you are using anything besides the treatment they have prescribed.

Injuries and Wounds
Here's a good selection of useful products, some of which can be kept in your first aid box for emergencies.  Lots of bandages, ointments, creams and lotions plus some prescription items.

Joints and Mobility
If your dog needs a bit of help getting around these joint aids can help.  This type of product often has a variety of active ingredients.  The one I use for Jamie is the Johnsons product illustrated on the left.  I would suggest that you try these out for a period of to see if there's any noticeable difference.

Renal and Liver
Various supplements and prescription drugs are available for our partners to help with kidney and liver complaints.  Some are over the counter products which you can buy at the best prices on the net.

Worming your dog is extremely important and the nasty little critters cannot be left inside your dog.  Worming is normally carried out every three months.  There are plenty of products to choose from and your vet will advise if you are unsure.
