Personalised collars If you have a dog in a public place then it must by law wear a collar with the your name and address on it. Sporting dogs are exempt from this, but for more information see the Kennel Club page on dog identification tags.

This firm has an ebay shop that does all kinds of engraving. They do collars with engraved plates which they can make to order and which can be worn by agility dogs when competing. You can also buy ordinary engraved dog tags, but these can't be worn in the ring when competing at Kennel Club events. The best thing about this type of ID for a dog is that it complies with the law if you're in a public place with the dog. The only thing I would suggest is that where it says "Pet name" you put your surname. This covers you legally and it also means that if your dog is stolen you haven't given your dog's name to the thief. Their live listings are shown below. |
