Kennel Club Registration & Authority to Compete
| Your dog needs to
be
eighteen months old to compete in the UK at a licensed Kennel Club agility show. If
you are a UK citizen you must register with the Kennel
Club, or registration must be applied for, before you can send away
your entry to a show. Your dog doesn't need to be a pedigree for you to do
this but he or she will need to be entered on the Activity Register. This will allow you to compete in
Obedience, Working Trials, Agility, Heelwork to Music and Flyball competitions licensed by the Kennel Club.
What is doesn't allow you to do is to enter Kennel Club Field Trials or
Gundog Working Tests. If your dog is already on the breeds register
then there is no need to go onto the Activity Register as well.
If you want to enter a show but haven't yet
registered your dog, complete the Kennel Club form now. It's called
Activity
Register Application Form (Form 5).
The form opens in the Adobe Acrobat Reader pdf format. If you don't
have the reader you can download it here
Adobe Acrobat Reader .
Non-residents will need to look at the information on the
Kennel Club website. Dogs that are to be shown rather than those
that are registering on the Activity register need to have an
authority to compete number. |
