These are the sort of poles I mean.  They generally come in packs of 6 or 12 and you can also buy spacing webbing to go with them.  I've given them their own page because I'm finding them so useful.

We do have a little bit of land where we can go to do our training but having a few jumps and a weave for the back garden is a good idea as well.  I use them when we just have time for a five minute practice.  I'll also be taking them to shows.

In the clip on the right we're doing a little bit of practice after a long hot afternoon.  Sasha gets heatstroke if we do too much in hot weather so we just sneak in five minutes here and there when it's cooler.

As you can see, there isn't much room but we do manage to fit in three jumps and the weave poles.

I bought the weave poles from ebay as I had intended them for use as practice at shows.  I made my own spacing tape from orange safety tape that I had in the shed.  I used a bit of double sided tape to fix curtain rings at 21" centres.  You can buy proper webbing to do the job if you want to.   The set of poles that I bought was well worth the money.  I thought they might not be strong enough for a boisterous dog like Sasha but they seem to be standing up very well.  They are easy to put up and they don't take up much room to store.

Finally just a word about taking stuff to shows.  Please be considerate.  Some people don't like it if you set up jumps and weaves etc. right beside their cars and who can blame them.  We're lucky to have a huge showground where finding a quiet spot isn't a problem.

I took the weave poles and a couple of jumps to the Royal Cornwall showground, pictured right, and we had a bit of practice well away from the cars, camping and the rings.  Sasha actually completed a twelve pole weave in her agility round after her practice.  Much later in the afternoon we went into the jumping class without using the weave poles and we were back to popping poles in the ring.  Whether it was just coincidence or not remains to be seen. Anyway, here are the Jesse Jump weave poles currently on offer from ebay.
